So it’s been a while since we’ve kept you all updated on goings on in the MAY68 camp. We’ve been hiding from the miserable British winter, locked away in various studios working on what is to be our next single. We’re not going to give too much away on that yet but watch this space. It was recorded partly in Wales, partly in Salford, partly in our practice room. Mostly engineered by Mr David Wrench (who’s recent credits include Caribou and Everything Everything!) and then partly engineered by ourselves. Chaotic? We wouldn’t have it any other way. Anyhow you’ll all find out more about that later on in the year.
Having being locked away (quite literally underground) deconstructing old songs and chiseling new ones for so long we’re itching to get back out on the road and share our next installment with you all.
We’re getting warmed up with a trip back down the M6 for our first London gig in what seems an age. The people at Lyle and Scott have asked us to come and play at one of their parties at XOYO with Kitsune’s Clock Opera on Feb 24th. L&S seemingly know how to throw a party, with all the other events completely selling out .
Anyone in London fancy coming down you can get tickets here >> TICKETS
Better still its only 3 buff.
Once that’s out the way and we’re all strutting about in some new threads it’s back up to Manchester to play a sold out show at Club Academy with our long time fav’s Cut Copy and Holy Ghost! on the 5th of March. This has completely sold out now so if you didn’t get a ticket that’s tough breaks. If you did, great we’ll see you there, it’s going to be a blinder.
THEN its off back to the continent for another stint around Germany & France. Last time we did Germany we lost our minds on a diet of strong beer and pickles. This time round we’ll inevitably do the same. Check out our live page for full details. We’re revisiting some towns we hit last time as well as taking in some new ones along the way. First show is Munster on the 16th of March and then we zig zag across until we head off to Strasbourg to join up on Les Inrocks tour with the Go Team!
We’re told the Parisian date at La Fleche D’or has now completely sold out and the rest of the dates are flying out like hot crepes. So if you’re over that way and wanting to see us get your tickets asap.
Anyhow we’re back off to practice and turn up the heat so the set is smoking.
See you all soon
